A Hobart court has heard there is nothing sinister or untoward into the actions of the convicted rapist and killer as he joined up with numerous online dating sites, and used an alias on Facebook.

Jamie John Curtis had been paroled in June a year ago after serving 32 years for the duplicated rape and torture of a 19-year-old woman and also the murder of her fiance in 1986.
